My Story

I am a survivor of a near-death experience. In the spring of 2006, I nearly lost my life to a 15 year battle with Crohn’s Disease. My body had shut down due to a ruptured colon and a miraculous surgery allowed me to survive.

In the last 7 years, I have transformed my physical body and now compete as an elite amateur triathlete for the Timex Multisport Team. I have raced 5 full distance Ironman events on 4 continents; with a personal best of 9:33:20. I have competed in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships 3 times and the U.S.A.T National Championships 5 times. Since the time of my surgery, I have raced in over 150 events all over the world.

I have been featured in endurance sports advertising including  the Timex Sports “I Am A Runner” Campaign and the Quintana Roo Cycling 2014 corporate catalog.  I am  also a sponsored athlete of Newton Running located in Boulder, CO.
